VILLA CLARA

La diversidad de experiencias y ambientes abunda en la región central de Cuba y ese hecho es más evidente en Villa Clara. La capital ultracultural, Santa Clara, es guardiana de la vanguardia cubana, con el único espectáculo de drag del país y su principal festival de rock. Mientras tanto, la pintoresca ciudad colonial de Remedios y los cayos bordeados de playas del archipiélago del norte están experimentando el desarrollo turístico contemporáneo más drástico de Cuba.

 

Esta tierra fue habitada originalmente por los pueblos taíno y arawak y siglos después fue liberada por el Che Guevara, quien está enterrado allí. La provincia está marcada de manera indeleble con el legado del Che, pero se ganará su corazón por albergar la fiesta callejera más frenética del país en Remedios, por los resplandecientes picos del Escambray y sus largas playas de arena blanca en Cayo Santa María.
