CIENFUEGOS
Cienfuegos era la más pequeña de las provincias de Cuba. En 2011, una redistribución de límites hizo que La Habana y la Isla de la Juventud fueran más pequeñas por definición. No se deje engañar por el tamaño de esta provincia; es abundante en historia, cultura y algunas de las reservas naturales y áreas protegidas más emocionantes de toda Cuba. Aunque la economía siempre ha estado enteramente dedicada al cultivo y procesamiento del azúcar, el paisaje virgen de las montañas ofrece paisajes espectacularmente atractivos con cascadas y áreas protegidas de gran valor para los botánicos, zoólogos y ecólogos cubanos. Cienfuegos es el hogar del Archipiélago de los Canarreos, una formación geológica de aproximadamente 350 islotes con vida marina y el hogar de algunos de los esfuerzos más importantes de Cuba en la conservación y protección de los recursos naturales. Hay más de 50 sitios de buceo en la provincia.
