Still legal to travel to Cuba

Updated: Nov 21, 2023

SUPPORT FOR THE CUBAN PEOPLE:

You can still travel to Cuba, even after the most recent changes of June 6th, 2019. After carefully reviewing the updated Cuban Assets Control Regulations (CACR), we continue offering our services to interested travelers. The Cubans, now more than ever, need the support of the Americans.

Under the General License Support for the Cuban People, one of the 11 categories allowed by the US Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), travelers can visit the island legally. However, this category has a set of provisions that need to be complied with, meaning that you would need a full-time itinerary, with activities that meet the standards of the license. Each activity has to be carefully planned by experts, who know which businesses, lodging, transportation, and restaurants, are privately owned by Cubans. Supporting the Cuban People means that you will meaningfully interact with individuals in Cuba: independent business owners, entrepreneurs, and artists, and engage with them, strengthening civil society on the island.

The last cruise ship might have sailed already from Havana harbor, but Cuba is still open for American travelers. While cruises, yachts, and private aircraft are not currently allowed, air travel is fully functional. Our agency makes sure that your travel program fully complies with US and Cuban laws. With Cuba VIP Travel, each itinerary is custom made, making sure that each activity engages with the purpose of the License, while also abiding Cuban regulations.. We have been building bridges for over 20 years and are committed to Cuba for the long run, this is just a bump in the road in our vision of a better future for the Cuban People.

The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) has been working with Cuba Vip Travel-staff since 2000. In addition to their professional caring service, Peter and Yaima’s Cuban roots and connections on the island help to provide a unique experience full of activities not available to other travelers. If you want to know Cuba and its people they can play an important role in your experience. Our Museum has generated a community of people who have become good friends as a result of our travel to Cuba.
